Top 3 Textbooks I wish I had known about before my clinical rotation!

Here is a list of books that I found EXTREMELY helpful to be successful as a nurse practitioner student in NP school. If you have any questions about them feel free to e-mail me! If you click on the picture of the textbook you will be taken to a page with more details about each book.

Frameworks of Internal Medicine

This book is incredible! I highly recommend it as a supplement to your studying. An amazing internal medicine physician suggested it to me and I am very grateful. I would recommend purchasing it early in your NP program to complement your pathophysiology classes and then carry it with you into your clinical rotations.

Symptom to Diagnosis

Symptoms to diagnosis is a MUST HAVE for any nurse practitioner. It has case studies and works you through diagnosing and treating common diseases. I appreciate the outline format. This is the ultimate learning tool and reference for any nurse practitioner or nurse practitioner student.

Pocket Primary Care

This book is so great! It is a small little handbook that you can almost carry in your scrub pocket. It is packed with so much detailed information that is easy to reference. You can quickly know exactly what symptoms to look for, tests to order, and screening guidelines. I carried this everywhere in my clinic rotations. My preceptor loved it and I ended up buying her a copy at the end of my rotation.
